Who’s counting cards?

Have you ever overdone a new concept? In today’s world, we have many social networking sites and events. Some involve a plane, some a car, some a local coffee shop. After attending these get-togethers, I’m always amazed at my collection of business cards that I’ve accumulated in this fast paced process.

Now, my assortment of 2 x 2’s has turned into an obsession.

As I look at my stash of cards, I wonder about the person who designed them. Did they take the easy way out and have an amateur try to catch their spirit?

Or, did they take the time to find their personality and business qualities and capture them on paper.

In the last ten months, I have been to a ton of different networking groups and workshops. They can be a challenge, exhausting, and just plain fun.

The experts tell us that 90 percent of jobs are acquired by this networking approach, and ten percent are found on the Internet.

These are quite interesting facts.

The national TV ads state “We must connect and stay connected to our network.” Many of us try to engage in this approach but sometimes I just want to unplug.

So, what do I do with my stack of little “2” x 2s”? At our house, the stack has taken refuge on my desk. Eventually I’ll deal with them.
